The Australian Government’s On Farm Connectivity Program is providing $30 million over 2 years to enable primary producers in agriculture, forestry and/or fisheries to take advantage of connected machinery and sensor technology.
Eligible producers can access a 50% discount of the cost of the eligible equipment. This includes water level monitors, rain gauges, pump control solutions, flow, pressure and trough sensors and more.
The objectives of this program are to:
- extend digital connectivity and enable Primary Producers to take advantage of advanced farming technology
- enhance a Primary Producer’s ability to implement digital agribusiness solutions through improved connectivity
- capitalise on the agricultural sector’s productivity and growth
- support access to new communications equipment and services by offsetting some of the cost.
To be eligible, you need a registered business and ABN that operates an eligible primary product activity and an annual pre-tax income of between $40k and $2m per year.
$15 million is available in Round 1 and funding will be allocated on a first-in, first-served basis for eligible producers and purchases.
To be eligible for the rebate program, Primary Producers need to have their eligibility assessed before they purchase or order eligible equipment.
